Het Ospedale della Pietà in Venetië was een van de vele weeshuizen die jonge meisjes opnamen en hen onder meer een professionele muzikale opleiding gaven. De concerten die daar werden gegeven trokken al snel bezoekers uit de hele wereld. Antonio Vivaldi werd Maestro de' Concerti van de Pietà in 1714, en het was een van deze meisjes die er zijn Nisi Dominus RV 608 voor het eerst uitvoerde. Hier wordt haar rol vertolkt door mezzosopraan Eva Zaicik, die onder leiding van Vincent Dumestre het prachtige Cum dederit in al zijn somnambulistische vervoering.
