Dvorak: Violin Concerto / Trio Op.65

Van alle beroemde en vruchtbare muzikale vriendschappen was die tussen Brahms en Dvorák een van de gelukkigste. Vanaf hun eerste ontmoeting in 1878 liet Dvorák zich overtuigen door het rigoureuze model van Brahms; zijn stijl werd duidelijker en zijn output in de daaropvolgende jaren was in de ban van het muzikale erfgoed van de oudere componist. Het Vioolconcert en het Derde Pianotrio behoren zeker tot deze periode ‘onder invloed’ - maar hoe succesvol is die invloed geïntegreerd!
