Beethoven: Piano Concertos 2 & 5 'Emperor'

De vijf pianoconcerten van Beethoven geven op hun manier een bepaalde periode uit zijn leven weer: namelijk de 20 jaar waarin de jonge componist uit Bonn zijn zinnen steeds weer zette op zijn eerste pianoconcert (zijn Weense "springplank" die rechtstreeks naar het 2e concert leidde) en zo streefde naar het meesterschap dat inherent is aan het ingenieuze 5e pianoconcert, bijgenaamd "Emperor". 250 jaar na Beethovens geboorte lanceren Kristian Bezuidenhout, Pablo Heras-Casado en het Freiburger Barockorchester met deze twee uitzonderlijke werken een opwindende complete opname van de pianoconcerten met historische instrumenten, die de aandacht zal trekken. Zeer aan te bevelen.

Van de vijf pianoconcerten die Ludwig van Beethoven gecomponeerd heeft, hebben fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout en het Freiburger Barockorchester onder leiding van Pablo Heras-Casado begin 2020 Beethovens tweede en laatste pianoconcert ("Emporer) ook uitgebracht in de harmonia mundi serie Beethoven 2020-2027. In Augustus 2020 is hieraan het vierde pianoconcert toegevoegd, eveneens uitgevoerd door dezelfde musici.
