Telemann Polonaise

Aisslinn Nosky (violin) & Holland Baroque

De spelers van Holland Baroque zetten hun PENTATONE-reis voort met Polonoise, een programma voor nieuwsgierige luisteraars die een andere kant van Telemann willen ontdekken. Zijn manuscript Danses d'Polonie (TWV 45), waarin hij de dansmuziek opschreef die hij op zijn reizen naar Polen hoorde, vormde de aanzet tot dit album. Met dit als uitgangspunt onderzoekt Holland Baroque samen met violiste Aisslinn Nosky hoe Telemann de Poolse stijl vertaalde naar zijn eigen werken. Polonoise neemt de luisteraar mee op een denkbeeldige reis naar de wilde natuur, de berghellingen en de schilderachtige dorpstaveernes van Polen. Gearrangeerd door de artistiek leiders van het ensemble, Judith en Tineke Steenbrink, klinken Telemanns Poolse concerten en dansen levendiger dan ooit.

Holland Baroque is an original and innovative baroque orchestra that approaches baroque repertoire through a fresh and contemporary approach, with a focus on improvisation and collaborations with outstanding artists from different traditions. Polonoise is their second PENTATONE release, after their well-received Silk Baroque (2019), together with Wu Wei. Aisslinn Nosky, one of the most pioneering and adventurous violinists of the Northern-American early music scene, makes her PENTATONE debut.
