De Oostenrijkse componist Thomas Larcher (1963) is een van de grote symfonisten van onze tijd. Dit album van het Fins Radio Symfonie Orkest en dirigent Hannu Lintu bevat de eerste opname van zijn 2e symfonie, 'Kenotaph', en de liederencyclus 'Die Nacht der Verlorenen' uitgevoerd door de wereldberoemde bariton Andrè Schuen.
