Christian Tetzlaff (violin)

De vioolsonates en partita's BWV1001-1006 behoren tot het meest veeleisende repertoire voor elke violist. Het zijn werken die behoren tot het culturele erfgoed van de mensheid, waarvan de muzikale en emotionele inhoud ongeëvenaard blijft. De beroemde Chaconne uit de Partita Nr. 2 in D mineur, die voor veel violisten het ongeëvenaarde hoogtepunt van muziek voor hun instrument vertegenwoordigt, is wereldberoemd geworden.

Zoals veel virtuozen die dit repertoire benaderen, behield Christian Tetzlaff, die onlangs werd geëerd met de prestigieuze ECHO Klassik award voor "Beste Instrumentalist (Viool)", zich het recht voor om te kiezen wanneer hij dit bijzondere repertoire opneemt. Tetzlaff is momenteel inderdaad op zijn absolute hoogtepunt, wat hij in deze opname nog maar eens bewijst.

Bachs prachtige solosonates en -partita's klinken dansend, zangerig, gevoelig en bijna moeiteloos in deze opname van de Sendesaal Bremen, die ook qua klank zeer indrukwekkend is en een volkomen natuurlijke akoestiek heeft. Een geweldig album dat Christian Tetzlaff vestigt als ongetwijfeld een van de grootste violisten van onze eeuw.
