John Wilson en de Sinfonia van Londen presenteren hier zelden gehoorde vroege werken van Henri Dutilleux. Het enige ballet van Dutilleux, Le Loup, werd in 1953 besteld voor het gezelschap van de eminente choreograaf Roland Petit. Ook zijn er drie première-opnamen van georkestreerde stukken die de componist in de jaren veertig schreef voor het Parijse Conservatorium. Vooral de Sarabande et Cortège voor fagot en de Sonate voor hobo zijn een ware tour de force voor de solisten, hier door Kenneth Hesketh getransformeerd tot effectieve concertstukken.
