Pierre Sancan: a Musical Tribute

Pierre Sancan (1916-2008) was een zeer invloedrijke figuur in het Franse muziekleven als componist, pianist, docent en dirigent, maar is buiten Frankrijk relatief onbekend - ongetwijfeld omdat hij zich vanaf 1956 voornamelijk concentreerde op lesgeven aan het Parijse Conservatorium. De lijst van zijn pianostudenten leest als een Who's Who van Franse pianisten: Michel Béroff, Jean-Philippe Collard en Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, onder anderen. Deze cd is een persoonlijk eerbetoon van de pianist aan Sancan en heeft als doel om meer bekendheid te geven aan deze begaafde componist.
