Anthology of American Folk Music

Deze box met zes cd’s bevat een verzameling met Amerikaanse country, blues en folk, opgenomen door Harry Smith in de jaren ’50 en ’60. De invloed van deze verzameling was enorm: hij bracht Blind Lemon Jefferson, Mississippi John Hurt, Dick Justice en vele anderen onder de aandacht van muzikanten als Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Jerry Garcia en Dave van Ronk. Het werd de bijbel van de Greenwich Village folkscene en later van muzikanten over de hele wereld. De box werd door Rolling Stone een van 500 belangrijkste platen ooit genoemd en kreeg bovendien twee Grammy’s. Met het prachtige booklet erbij is dit een verzameling die in geen enkele platencollectie mag ontbreken.
