VIOLIN CONCERTOS

Johan Dalene (violin) & Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Blendulf

De Zweedse violist Johan Dalene, geboren in 2000, drukt al zijn stempel op de internationale scène. Zijn verfrissende, eerlijke muzikaliteit, gecombineerd met zijn vermogen om zich met muzikanten en publiek bezig te houden, heeft hem veel bewonderaars opgeleverd. Hij begon op vierjarige leeftijd met vioolspelen en maakte drie jaar later zijn professionele concertdebuut. Als student aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Stockholm werkte hij ook nauw samen met mentoren als Janine Jansen, Leif Ove Andsnes en Gidon Kremer.

Dalene is prijswinnaar geweest bij een aantal wedstrijden, recentelijk bij het prestigieuze Carl Nielsen Concours, waar hij de eerste prijs won. Tijdens de finale van het Nielsenconcours speelde hij het Vioolconcerto van Tsjaikovski in D Major, een werk dat hij twee maanden eerder (in januari 2019) voor BIS had opgenomen. Op de huidige SACD is de opname gemaakt met het Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, bekend van vele bejubelde opnames op BIS.

Maar dit is ook Johan Dalene's thuisorkest: geboren en getogen in de stad Norrköping, heeft hij meerdere keren met het orkest opgetreden en was de Artist-in-Residence 2018 / 19. De SACD sluit af met het lyrische en contemplatieve vioolconcert van Samuel Barber uit 1939.
