L'OCCHIO DEL COR

Ensemble La Reverdie, Christophe Deslignes

Francesco Landini was de beroemdste Florentijnse Trecento-componist, bekend als een multi-instrumentalist, met name een virtuoos op het orgel. Zoals bekend verloor hij zijn gezichtsvermogen op 7-jarige leeftijd, maar ondanks zijn handicap blonk hij uit in de studie van muziek en alle vrije kunsten. Kan de toestand van blindheid de poëtische productie van Landini hebben beïnvloed? La Reverdie onderzoekt samen met Christophe Deslignes deze hypothese, met een nieuw project dat zowel bekende meesterwerken als nooit eerder opgenomen stukken presenteert, op zoek naar tekens die uiteindelijk indruk zouden kunnen maken in de verzen en de muziek van Magister Coecus door het verlies van zijn gezichtsvermogen. De verwijzing naar de ogen uit literaire topos wordt in veel teksten van Landini een melancholisch poëtisch hulpmiddel om de afstand, de afwezigheid of het verlies van de geliefde vrouw uit te drukken, die alleen "het hart van het hart" (L'Occhio del Cor) kan voorstellen . Een project dat de recente leegte opvult over een fundamentele auteur bij de zonsondergang van de Middeleeuwen, herlezen vanuit een perspectief dat tot nu toe nooit is onderzocht. Een gepassioneerd werk over de strikte band tussen poëzie en muziek, goed uitgelegd door Davide Daolmi, gaat gepaard met een noodzakelijk musicologisch bronnenonderzoek.
