Wederom volgt Poltéra zijn succesrecept om een CD exclusief aan één componist te wijden en hem te portretteren in concerto en kamermuziek. Het celloconcert, dat ruim vijfentwintig minuten duurt (een van de slechts drie concerti die Barber ooit schreef), krijgt gezelschap van de cellosonate en het inmiddels beroemde "Adagio voor strijkers", het werk waaraan Barber zijn populariteit te danken heeft. Deels zware kost, deels luisterplezier.
