Sibelius: Symphonies Nos. 3 & 5 Pohjola's Daughter

Na het enorme succes van de eerste twee series symfonieën van Sibelius (bekroond met o.a. de Gramophone Editor's Choice, Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik, Diapason d'Or) laten de Finse dirigent Santtu-Matias Rouvali en het Göteborg Symfonie Orkest ons hier kennismaken met de "groene" kant van Sibelius, wiens werk sterk geïnspireerd was door de natuur. In april 1915, toen de wereld in chaos verkeerde, beschreef hij in zijn dagboek hoe 16 zwanen boven het meer verschenen. Hij noteerde hun oproep, die hem inspireerde tot het schrijven van het hoornthema van de finale van de 5e Symfonie.
